Grassmarket

Castle Heights is located in the charming Grassmarket, right in the heart of Old Town with Edinburgh Castle sitting majestically overhead. You'll not find a better location for exploring this magical city. With countless artisan coffee shops and hip eateries everything is on your doorstep. There are also some legendary traditional pubs dating back to the16th century for sampling whisky flights and enjoying a local beer. The bustling Saturday market in the large pedestrianised square is a must where you’ll find a fantastic array of locally produced bread, cheese, olives, macarons and delicious street food.

At the top of the Grassmarket is the beautiful winding, cobbled Victoria Street lined with colourful speciality shops and restaurants. It’s easy to see how it was the inspiration for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter series. You’ll find artisan produce such as speciality cheeses from I.J. Mellis, tempting pastries from La Barantine, exclusive whiskies from The Whisky Shop, Harris Tweed tailoring from Walker Slater and unique scents inspired by the rugged Scottish Highlands from The Isle of Skye Candle Company to name just a few.
